The Graphics Resource Page

Where to go to share graphic files to help design game utilities

Greetings.  This page is a repository of links and graphics for Play By Email Designers.

My Own Collection

To save development time, I include this sampling of GIFs that you can use in your Cyberboard, ADC or even VMAP sets.  If you have some interesting bitmaps you would like to share, please email them to me.  The GIFs are 60 pixels by 60 pixels, presented in a square.  You can expand them to a larger size through a variety of methods if need be.  The 60 x 60 size is arbitrary-- I chose it because it seems to fit most hex-based wargame hexagon sizes.

To download the graphics, right click on the image, and choose the Save Image As... option, then download the image to your hard drive.

(graphics not 100% implemented yet-- in process of collecting them!)

Outland(ish) Hex Tile Graphics

This is a Freebie resource site from a gent from the U.K. by the name of Strobe.   Outlandish offers up free hex terrain graphics for (mostly) RPG hobbyists.  With very little work, they can be utilized for ADC and Cyberboard.   Visit the site by clicking the link above.  You can also download the entire collection (4MB) by clicking here.   Drop him a line and tell him what you think, he's providing a very useful service.

How to Create Quick and Dirty Military Units using fonts in Cyberboard/ADC

Here's a quick and easy way to do it:  Download the following font files:

Military ID fonts

Military Unit fonts

Install them in your system.  In Cyberboard, or even Aide De Camp II, switch to that font using the Tools command (or Font?) command in ADC, and that symbol will show up on your tile.  I made these counters using symbol fonts:

Tom Mouat's excellent MAPSYMBs font face

These symbols are derived from Tom Mouat's Mapsymbs font.  You can get a shareware copy from Tom's website.  This is an excellent source for any NATO style counter set.   Other fonts of interest to gameset designers are:
Napoleonic
(I used these for the MINUTE NAPOLEONICS gamebox)
Map Symbols
Starship Marines WW2 Era German
Map Making font
Generic Military Symbols Military Train Spotters

fonts and font images are copyright Tom Mouat.

Kjell Windsland's Library of Terrain Symbols is available on Nick Bell's Aide De Camp support page.  Here are a few Screenshots to whet your appetite.
