The Marne - " . . . Home before the leaves fall."

     ADC2 version by Joseph Oliver (Jaydeeo@aol.com), 1998
Original by Simulations Publications Inc. (SPI), 1972

This is an early SPI effort by designer John Young, probably best remembered for his
SPI classics of the early '70s, Borodino, Austerlitz, La Grande Armee, and Lee Moves
North, among others, and it is not the typical WWI consim. Indeed, the "Pursuit"
scenario begins with an empty map and the Allies entering largely at the north edge,
while being chased (for a while!) by the Germans.

The map has been dressed up a bit, but it is largely faithful to the original, with
the exception of the integrated turn record & reinforcement chart and the addition of
a terrain key and assorted off-map holding boxes for markers and exited units. The
counters are almost unchanged, but I've added and/or modified with more color the
markers for indicating destroyed forts, exit hexes, and disruption. Alternatively,
if preferred, disruption (and supply status) can be indicated by direct edit of the
individual piece values.

I've provided separate OPS files only for the two main historical scenarios, but
experimentation with the four different OBs can be done easily by modifying the
appropriate force pools.

One final note: I've used a completely blank (no hex outline) terrain symbol as the
"overlay." Should anyone prefer to see thicker hex-sides everywhere, then feel free
to modify it.
