HANNIBAL:ROME VS CARTHAGE
1. The grid behind the visible map is mAde up of squares that are smaller than either the unit
or the spaces that the units reside in on the map.  The matter of grid sizing was determined 
by much trial and error and was a compromise since the original map was not based on
any regular grid pattern. Consequently, each space provides rather unique opportunities 
for the placement of units and markers.
2.  There are two sizes of counters.  You must put your cursor on the center of the combat
units or PC marker or in the center of the top half of a General to select them.
3. The CUs have flip definitions that allow a 1 to flip to a 2 and a 2 to flip to a 3, etc
and finally a 5 will flip to a 1 again.
4. The two PC Markers have reciprocal flip definitions, as do the Siege Point Markers.
5. Both decks of cards are provided, as well as two hands to be used by each player, one
to hold their Strategy Cards, the other their Battle Cards.  The Battle Cards are quite
readable, but the wording on the Strategy Cards, other than the titles are unreadable.  
The document "Strategy Cards.doc" lists all the Strategy Cards, who can play each, etc.
6. The Automatic Card Tracking System (ACTS) at "www.warhorsesim.com/acts" can be used as 
an alternative to using the ADC2 card dealing system, much as you would a dice server.
7. An Additional "Consuls" Deck is provided for use in randomly determining who the next two
Roman Consuls are.  Two Hands have been provided.  The "New Consuls" Hand is used to pick
the new consuls by dealing two cards from the "Consuls" Deck.  Before being played by the
Roman player to see who they are, the "Current Consuls" Hand should be returned to the Deck
and then used to pick up the consuls cards after they are played.  I'm sure there is a
simpler way!
6.  An copy of the 2nd edition rulebook is provided in "Hannibal2.doc".

7.  There are only two zoom levels.  There seemed little point in having 3.  Unfortunately
this means zoom levels 1 and 2 are the same.
8.  Plenty of spare CUs and PC markers are available in the force pools provided.
9.  "Charts and Tables.doc" contains all the information on the map board in readable form.
Although it is possible to read the map board at zoom 3 level, this is provided for old farts
like myself, to reduce eyestrain.
