Blurb by Richard Fluck Empire I, published in 1973, was one of the first 'empires in space' games. Playable by 2-4 players, it is a game of interstellar exploration and conquest, winner takes all. Players design ships, build armies and colonising missions, and spread across the known universe, building their empire. Simple mechanics and system, with colourful (for 1973) board and counters. Requires some record keeping, although this is facilitated by V Map's notation function. Standard size map, 200+ counters, short rules.
