The TSR Minigames Page

TSR Logo

Tactical Studies Rules, aka TSR Hobbies, Inc., was one of the premiere success stories in gaming back in the 70s and 80s, and really represents the kind of gaming I (your humble webmaster) was doing back in those vaunted days.  Many hobbyists can, of course, identify Dungeons and Dragons in all its myriad variations, but I bet some of you don't recall that TSR started out as a wargaming house... and that they had a multitiude of very clever designs back then that had little or nothing to do with elves, dwarves, and n number hit dice monsters.  This page is something of an homage to that time, particularly the time that TSR delved into what it thought might be a thriving market-- microgaming.  Not counting their (extremely clever, some of them) Dragon magazine games,   I can think of maybe six microgames put out by TSR back then (TSR called them "minigames" in order not to be confused with Metagaming, I'm guessing).  Here are some PBeM support files for those games.
