The Warriors of BatakPlay By Email Support Page |
This game is one of a series of weird, surrealistic science fiction battle games in the Pocket Line from Task Force Games. Initially, I thought it was a tad too simplistic and the map art is pretty dreadful. However, a second glance has convinced me that this game has the potential to be a great deal of fun (once you redo the map-- which looks like it was painted with watercolors). The counters are retouched and I did the map by hand. It wouldn't have scanned anyway. In any event, the situation is interesting: A small contingent of Confederation forces hold off an alien invasion by the Bataki strike forces. Victory is achieved by holding strategic points on the map. There is a nice mix of forces in the game.

This screen shot demonstrates a major dustup between the Batak assaulting force (in yellow) and the Orion battlegroup (in pink). All unit types are demonstrated here.
There really isn't a Warriors of Batak turn track in the published game. I created this for PBeM play.
This is a Terrain Chart, something the original game badly needs. The terrain on the map is fairly poorly depicted and not described well in the rulebook (my opinion). |
